OBIEE 11g - Conditionally Formatting Different Number Columns

Written by Shwetank Sheel | Sep 7, 2013 11:25:00 AM

OBIEE 11g now allows you to set the data format of a column conditionally.

For example, if we take a pivot table which has a SINGLE measure column, but with different kinds of measures – actual values (May '11 / May '12), percentage values (Growth %) and bps values. We would want to format the numbers for each of these separately.

We are now able to accomplish this – when we go to the Conditional Formatting settings, there is an additional tab which allows us to set the Data Format (shown below).

By doing this, we are able to achieve different formatting for a single measure column based on its dimensional attributes.
